Code Enforcement

The Shepherdsville City Council has adopted City Codes (laws) specifically designed to address blight, nuisances, and to maintain a clean environment for all citizens in our community. The City of Shepherdsville does this by working in partnership with the citizens of Shepherdsville. Code Enforcement responds to concerns from citizens that affect the quality of life within the city such as zoning, overgrown lots or yards, inoperative vehicles, maintenance of structures, illegal signs and public nuisances. Systematic inspections are also performed throughout the city to ensure properties are in compliance with city code. The mission of the Code Enforcement Officer is to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment. We help maintain and improve the quality of our community by administering a fair and unbiased enforcement program to correct violations of municipal codes and land use requirements. The Mayor and City Council have charged the Shepherdsville Police Department with code enforcement. Currently, the City of Shepherdsville is the only city with a full time police officer dedicated to code enforcement. Click here to submit a code enforcement request form.
