Divisions

The Shepherdsville Police Department is led by the Chief of the department. All sworn and civilian personnel report to the Chief.

Assistant Chief/Lt. Colonel who directly supervises the two majors. Additionally, he is responsible for the department’s Accreditation, Training Programs and maintaining/updating policies and procedures. Training Officer is assigned to assist him.

Operations Major oversees the four platoons that comprise the Patrol Division. Each platoon is assigned a sergeant and patrol officers. Additionally, The Ops Major is responsible for Asset Management, Fleet Management, the department’s K9 program, Patrol Officer Training (PTO) Program and the School Resource Officer (SRO) Program.

Support Services Major oversees the department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID). A sergeant is assigned to assist him by directly supervising those detectives, leading the Accident Reconstruction Program and overseeing the department’s secured Evidence Storage. An officer is tasked to directly maintain the Evidence Room. The Support Services Major is also charged with being the department’s Custodian of Records. He maintains all administrative records, the department’s budget, information technology and asset forfeiture. He is also assisted by two civilian clerks.
